Dar es Salaam, 16 October 2026 – Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) paid a courtesy visit to UNICEF Tanzania to formally introduce its new Co-Executive Directors, Agnes Hanti and Amani Manyelezi, and reaffirm the organisations' ongoing partnership in strengthening youth-led and women-led civil society organisations.
The visit provided an opportunity for the new leadership to engage with UNICEF colleagues and review progress under the joint programme, Supporting Capacity Development of Youth-Led and Girl/Women-Led Civil Society Organisations to Benefit Children and Adolescents.
Through the partnership, 15 youth-led and women-led civil society organisations across Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Songwe are implementing community- and school-based initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for children and adolescents. These initiatives provide an opportunity for participating organisations to apply the knowledge and skills acquired through the programme's capacity-strengthening activities.
Discussions also focused on the upcoming UNICEF monitoring visits to participating organisations. The visits will provide an opportunity to observe project implementation first-hand, engage with participating organisations and gain insights into emerging results at the community level.
FCS and UNICEF Tanzania remain committed to strengthening the capacity of local civil society organisations to effectively respond to the needs and priorities of children and adolescents.
