Civic Space Program Lead

Ms Edna is a certified Organizational Development and policy advocacy practitioner with intensive experience in Policy advocacy analysis, Capacity development in change management, team management, organizational learning, and institutional capacity- building. As a developmental practitioner for the last 20 years, she has delivered a wide-range of developmental interventions to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) including Organizational development, policy advocacy, strategic management, leadership development, resource mobilization, governance support, organizational capacity assessment, project management as well as project evaluation.

Edna is currently working for the foundation for Civil Society as Civic space lead. Her main responsibilities among others include to manage the existing and growing civic space portfolio, foster dialogues, drive strategic election initiatives, and develop innovative new approaches to strengthen civic engagement in partnership with key stakeholders. In addition to represent FCS as an active member of the Change the Game Alliance, leveraging the network to deepen our understanding of civic space trends and collaborate on impactful regional initiatives.

Also to build and maintain strong relationships with partners, contributing to joint projects and knowledge-sharing efforts. She is also responsible for fundraising for the sustainability of the Foundation for civil society. Edna Chilimo holds Master of Science degree in Crop protection with a major in Rural Development from the University of Zimbabwe.
