Rahma Kiriwe is a dynamic and results-driven professional with expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, strategic communications, and policy analysis. In her role as a Civic Space Program Assistant at the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS), she plays a critical role in coordinating and executing civic space programs aimed at fostering an inclusive and enabling environment for civil society engagement in Tanzania’s democratic governance.

Rahma works closely with civil society organizations (CSOs) at grassroots, regional, and national levels, ensuring that diverse voices including persons with disabilities (PWDs), women, and youth are actively involved in shaping policies and governance. Her work is characterized by meticulous policy tracking and analysis, ensuring that FCS programs effectively influence legislative frameworks and drive sustainable democratic transformation.

Beyond her work in civic space, Rahma is a passionate advocate for climate action and environmental sustainability, bringing over five years of experience in the environmental sector. She possesses deep knowledge of climate policies, laws, and frameworks that drive action towards a healthy environment and climate resilience. She has been actively involved in initiatives promoting climate justice, conservation, and sustainable development, bridging the gap between grassroots activism and high-level policy engagement.

Rahma’s strategic leadership and innovative approach enable her to blend her expertise in climate advocacy, civic engagement, and policy influence. She is dedicated to strengthening civil society’s role in governance, ensuring that communities are empowered to shape policies, influence laws, and drive sustainable impact.
